The Element of Surprise

With the distribution of the 2013 Criterion Conferences Christmas party invitations highlighting a mystery location, anticipation and excitement immediately filled the office followed by the usual (mostly female) predicaments. What is the dress code? What should I bring? How late should I get picked up? Will I be overdressed?

With the fellas sporting their finest bow ties and crisp suits and the ladies going above and beyond with flawless dresses and red lippy, the team looked sharp embracing the Masquerade ball theme.

The team gathered in the office, the usual bland office attire absent for a very special visit by the big man himself. The distribution of company Kris Kringle proved to be the perfect icebreaker for the commencement of a lovely evening! Gifts varied from water pistols to chocolate and the bizarre koala piggy bank.

Staff were excited to learn that rumours of long journeys, lame venues and no booze were not so when arriving at the destination in a luxury coach at Hugo’s in Sydney’s Potts Point.

With champagne flowing and pizza galore, everyone was excited to celebrate an outstanding year and party straight into 2014 with a special performance of ‘Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer’ from the sales team.

A highlight for the night had to be the photo booth and dress ups. It has made for many laughs on Monday. A Monday post Christmas party is always a good one when there are no embarrassing stories to share, apart from the photographic evidence.

Merry Christmas!
