Last Friday 29th of May, Criterion’s Corporate Giving Committee (CGC) hosted our first ever ‘Biggest Morning Tea’ in support of the Cancer Council.

It gave everyone a great excuse to give in to our weekly carb cravings but this time for a good cause!

With the cancer statistics in Australia at an all-time high (1 in 3 women and 1 in 2 men), we thought this was the perfect opportunity to showcase our baking skills and to allow some people to cement their relationships with the bakers at Coles.

After constant reminders and emails being sent around, we were absolutely overwhelmed with the generosity of everyone in the office after they provided a veritable feast of goodies.

After careful consideration we decided that $5 would be an appropriate amount to charge for everyone to enjoy as much as they wanted and as we started collecting the money we soon realised that people were happy to contribute over and above what we had asked, finally taking our total to an amazing $564.80. All proceeds went to the Cancer Council.

Thanks to everyone’s generosity we were left with a lot of extra food, and I found a fantastic service called OzHarvest who came to the business and picked up the leftover food to donate it to vulnerable men, women and children within the community. It was a great end to a great day letting everyone drift into their weekends with a sugar rush and a great feeling that we had helped two charities who are close to our hearts and aligned with the company’s key values.
