“Which gender has the XY chromosome?”

Concerned murmurs fluttered through the tables of wizards, basketball players, Cluedo figurines and Christmas elves.

In a gamble round, teams were asked how many points they wanted to gamble. “We’re all in!” most teams declared, putting their hard-earned points on the line in the name of glory.

After a hurried minute of scrawling on paper, frantic whispers and quiet tears over not having paid attention in high school biology, the answer “men” garnered a chorus of groans and cheers.

For some it paid off and the move won the night for the Noel-it-alls. Others found themselves with nothing and sought solace in the arms of their teammates.

Criterion’s EOFY trivia night celebrated our achievements and learnings as an organisation, a fitting end to our 10th financial year. Our keen minds were fueled by a Lebanese banquet, fairy floss machine and popcorn cart (thanks Helen).

Teams included I am Smarticus, John Trivialta (who controversially dressed as a second Christmas team), You’re a Quizzard Harry,  and Let’s Get Quizzical.

The costume prize went to ‘We don’t have a Cluedo’ (judged impartially by Mrs White herself).

Check out some photos from the carnage festivities:
