The establishment of the WestConnex Delivery Authority (WDA) is the firing of the starter gun for the largest infrastructure project in Australia.

The Authority will oversee the management of Sydney’s $11bn highway, including construction and financing, and will report to the Minister for Roads. The Authority has an enormous project on their hands, however luckily they are chaired by Tony Shepherd, the Chairman of Business Council of Australia, and include members with vast and diverse experience.

The WestConnex project will, upon completion, mean less traffic across Sydney (much needed, trust me) and allow a multitude of further urban developments across the city. The 10 year completion plan (above) details the extensive work planned, and is a reminder of how far the WDA have to go.
