Karaoke at Criterion – July 2016Tom

Criterion Conferences’ Corporate Giving Committee recently held an evening of (undeniably high quality) karaoke to mark the company’s second fundraising event for 2016. The money was once again raised through a peer-nominated voting system, which would see staff put forward $2 to cast a single vote in the hope of bumping their colleague of choice into the ‘top 6 karaoke sing off’.

The selected charity for July’s fundraising event was AIME – a program that supports Indigenous students by equipping them with the skills to achieve success at all levels of education.

Chili Eating Contest & International Food Day – April 2016Chilli 3

In April, Criterion held our most successful fundraiser to date in the form of a hot chili eating competition! We’re proud to have raised over $2,100 for House of Welcome, which supports refugees and asylum seekers in their transition to life in Australia.

Five of our colleagues were nominated to take part, with HR Manager Vicki joining last minute as the Senior Leadership wildcard! We followed the competition with an International Food Day, with everyone bringing in dishes to share and leftovers going to OzHarvest.

Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea – May 2015Biggest-Morning-Tea-Cake-Collage-300x290

In May, Criterion hosted our first ever ‘Biggest Morning Tea’ in support of the Cancer Council. The entire company got involved, bringing in savoury and baked goods to share around the office, raising $564.80 for the Cancer Council.

Thanks to everyone’s generosity we were left with a lot of extra food, and a fantastic service called OzHarvest picked up the leftover food to donate it to vulnerable men, women and children within the community.

We rounded off the day with a barbecue and a game of lawn bowls in the sun!

Criterion Movie Night – December 2014Criterion Movie Night

We could not think of a more worthy cause to launch The Criterion Giving Committee than an event that hits very close to home.  We as a company decided in 2014 to band together to give a bright and bubbly colleague a helping hand! Leah Mula has been battling cancer since she was diagnosed at the age of 20.

We had a fun night of old school Hollywood glamour with a silent auction, drinks reception and private screening of Brad Pitt movie FURY. Everyone looked fantastic and thanks to all who contributed! Read more >
