AV Services at University of Wollongong
Dave is currently Senior Technical Officer for AV Services at University of Wollongong in Australia. Dave has worked in several K-12 and higher institutions over the last 15 years. It was here where he discovered a love of technology, learning and design. A brief stint at AMX Australia, later avt, gave Dave insight into the corporate side of AV, how it operates a business and where it can learn and develop. This deep knowledge of both the end user and supplier sides has enabled Dave to leverage his experience to provide UOW with a unique approach to AV deployment and partnerships.
The establishment of Strategic Partnerships, both internally and externally at the University is starting to provide real change in learning spaces, an area which historically has struggled with change. His current focus is strengthening end user engagement in the design and functional outcomes required in learning spaces. Dave really enjoys a collaborative multi-disciplinary approach, working with architects, technology specialists, academics, and of course, students to come up with new and engaging ways of delivering physical learning spaces. When not imagining the perfect learning space, he’s either off rock climbing or cycling around the Illawarra or playing with his 2 kids and chocolate labrador.
